World Book Day … Thursday 3 March 2016

All children are asked to come to school dressed as one of their favourite Roald Dahl characters.  We would also ask that they bring in their favourite book.  This is so that in the afternoon they can share their special book with children in another year group.
Children must wear appropriate outdoor footwear and if necessary something warm underneath. They also need to bring a coat.

We are supporting the charity ‘Book Aid International’ in helping send more books to make libraries for schools in Africa.  We, as a school, would love to show support for this charity and so if you wish to send a small donation in on the day, this would be much appreciated.  Please see www.bookaid.org for more information about this charity.

There will be a prize for a child in each class for the best dressed Roald Dahl character.  The school council will also be running a competition and the children will be informed in school about this. Prizes will be a £2 book voucher to use at the school book fair.

On World Book Day all children will be given a £1 book token. When they receive the token, all they need to do is to take it to a local bookshop and swap it for one of the ten fantastic books on offer.  You can visit the World Book Day website to view the books available www.worldbookday.com. Or, if they’d prefer, they can use the book token to get £1 off any full price book at the school book fair!

Travelling Book Fair

The school book fair will be arriving in school on Monday 7 March.  The fair will be open for book sales Monday to Thursday of this week. Further details to follow!
